# Sign up

> Create your Pharus account, confirm your email address, set up your company, or join a company you were invited to.

<Info>
  **Plans:** Every plan. A new company starts on the 14-day free trial. **Who:** anyone with a work email. The person who creates a company becomes its owner.
</Info>

Signing up takes two parts: an account for you, then a company (a workspace) for the products you report on. Colleagues who are invited to an existing company only create the account.

## Create your account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the sign-up page">
    Go to [the sign-up page](https://app.pharussecurity.com/sign-up?lang=en), or select **Create a workspace** on the sign-in page. A link from the pricing on the website opens the same page with your plan picked.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the account step">
    Enter your **Full name**, **Work email** and a **Password** of at least 12 characters. Tick **I accept the terms and the data processing agreement**.

    To use your work account instead, select **Continue with Microsoft** or **Continue with Google** where the page shows them. You then accept the terms on the Company step.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pass the check">
    The page runs a short check that you're a person. If it can't load, allow `challenges.cloudflare.com` or try another network.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select Continue to company">
    Pharus sends a confirmation link to your address. The page shows **Check your email**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

If the address already has a Pharus account, nothing changes: the email you get says so and points you to the sign-in page.

## Confirm your email address

No account is used until its address is confirmed. The email **Confirm your email for Pharus** has a link that works for 24 hours and only once.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the link in the email">
    It opens a page in Pharus with a **Confirm email** button. Opening the link alone confirms nothing, so a mail scanner that opens links can't confirm the address for you.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select Confirm email">
    Pharus signs you in and continues at the Company step. If you stop here, your next sign-in starts at the same step.
  </Step>
</Steps>

If you open the link in a different browser from the one you signed up in, the page asks for the account's password first. **I don't know this password** confirms the address without it: the password is removed, and you choose a new one with **Forgot password?** the next time you sign in.

No email? On the **Check your email** page select **Send a new link**, or **Start again** if you typed the wrong address.

<Note>
  With Microsoft or Google, Pharus asks you to confirm the address only when your provider didn't confirm it. Select **Send link** and open the link in the same browser, so your Microsoft or Google sign-in stays connected to the account.
</Note>

## Set up your company

The company steps follow the account step: **Company**, **Routing** and **Pipeline**. A panel next to the form shows the workspace as you fill it in. You can change all of it later under **Settings → Company**.

<Steps>
  <Step title="About the company">
    * **Company name**, for example "Nordlys Elektronikk AS".
    * **Main establishment**: an EU or EEA country, or **Outside the EU and the EEA**.
    * **Organisation number**: nine digits from Brønnøysundregistrene. Required when the main establishment is Norway, optional otherwise.
    * **Product families**: **1**, **2–5** or **6+**. The plan and its monthly price are shown below the choice.
    * Tick **I accept the terms and the data processing agreement**.

    Select **Continue to routing**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Where does your report go?">
    A company established in an EU member state reports to that state's CSIRT, and the step shows which one. A company in Norway or outside the EU picks the EU member state, if any, of each link in the CRA Art. 14(7) cascade: authorised representative in the EU, importer, distributor, member state with most users. The first link in the EU decides. See [Art. 14(7) routing](/incidents/routing).

    Not sure yet? Continue anyway and set the route later. Select **Continue to pipeline**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect your first SBOM">
    Pick where your first SBOM will come from: **GitHub**, **Azure DevOps**, **Dependency-Track / sbomify** or **Upload SBOM**, and select **Create workspace**. Or select **Do this later**, which creates the workspace too.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open Pharus">
    The page lists the next steps (the on-call rota, security.txt, an SBOM). Select **Open Pharus**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

You are the owner of the new company, and its 14-day free trial starts now, without a card. See [Billing](/workspace/billing).

<Note>
  Owners and admins who sign in with a password must set up two-step verification. The first time you open Pharus, it asks you to do that before anything else. It takes a minute: see [Account security](/workspace/account-security#set-up-two-step-verification).
</Note>

### Product families and the plan

The number of product families you pick stands for a plan:

| Product families | Plan | Price |
| - | - | - |
| 1 | Starter | 1 900 NOK / month, excl. VAT |
| 2–5 | Core | 6 500 NOK / month, excl. VAT |
| 6+ | Plus | 14 000 NOK / month, excl. VAT |

A link from the website's [pricing](https://www.pharussecurity.com/en#pricing) picks the matching choice for you. The answer doesn't commit you: the trial has every software feature and no limit on product families, and an owner chooses the plan to pay for under **Settings → Billing**. Pricing follows product families, not seats. See [Plans](/plans).

## Accept the terms

Whoever creates a company accepts the [terms](https://www.pharussecurity.com/en/terms) and the [data processing agreement](https://www.pharussecurity.com/en/data-processing) on its behalf, also for a second company. Pharus records the version, the time and who accepted.

If the terms change while the sign-up page is open, creating the workspace stops with "Our terms have changed since you opened this page." Reload the page, read the terms and accept them again.

## Join a company you were invited to

An owner or admin invites you from **Settings → Members**. The invitation email names the company and the person who invited you, and has an **Accept invitation** button. The link works for 7 days and only from that email.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the link in the invitation">
    If you're signed in, you see **Join** and the company name, with your role and who invited you.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in or create your account">
    Not signed in, the link opens the sign-in page. New to Pharus? Under **Invited by a colleague?** select **Create your account**. Sign up with the address the invitation went to, and confirm it. There are no company steps.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select Accept invitation">
    You join the company with the role in the invitation. **Decline invitation** turns it down.
  </Step>
</Steps>

What the invitation page can tell you:

| The page says | What to do |
| - | - |
| This invitation is for another email | You're signed in with a different address. Select **Sign in with another account**. |
| This invitation has expired | Ask the person who invited you to send a new one. |
| This invitation isn't valid | It was cancelled or replaced by a newer one. Ask for a new invitation. |
| This invitation link doesn't work | The link is incomplete or out of date. Ask for a new invitation. |
| This invitation has already been used | If you joined, the company is waiting in Pharus. |

## Choose your language

Pharus is in Norwegian (bokmål) and English.

* **Sign-up and sign-in pages** open in the language of the website you came from. Switch with the language menu on the page.
* **In the app**, use the language menu in the top bar, or **Settings → Your profile → Language**, which also sets the language of the emails Pharus sends you.
* **The company's default language** is set from the main establishment: Norwegian for a company in Norway, English for every other country. It is used for invitations and for members who haven't picked a language. Change it under **Settings → Company → Default language**.

SRP paste packs and CSAF documents are always in English, whatever language you choose.
